Sports injuries can occur no matter how careful
people are. Many injuries are caused from overusing muscles and
joints. Overuse injuries should not be ignored. They can take a
long time to heal. Most sports injuries caused by overuse can be
treated at our clinic. Home care should also be incorporated with
RICE therapy. The four steps to take for RICE therapy are: rest,
ice, compression, and elevation.

Massage Therapy rejuvenates your muscles, aids
recovery and prevents injuries due to training. Massage Therapy
involves an assessment and treatment through hands-on manipulation
of the soft tissue (including muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin
and connective tissue) and joints of the body. In general, the goals
of massage therapy are to maintain, rehabilitate or improve physical
function, and/or relieve pain. Techniques that may be used during
treatment are massage, hydrotherapy, stretching, trigger point therapy
and joint mobilizations. |

muscular and lymphatic function, thereby encouraging a state of
improved health and well-being. What you do on your own time is
equally important to injury recovery and to the improvement and
maintenance of your health. The Massage Therapist may give you exercises
to perform on your own time, depending on your circumstances. |
